Day - 40 Farm Share

Tonight I am filling out the paperwork to buy a Farm Share from an organic farm that is about fifteen minutes from where we live for this summer and early fall. After watching Food Inc. it has caused me to start thinking a little more about where our food comes from. The farm offers smaller and larger shares that you will use from May 1st until mid October. We have decided to go with the smaller share so we can dip our toes in the water as they say. I am also hoping to be a little more daring with our recipes this summer and try some vegetables that we would not normally buy, I will keep you posted. It seems weird to be thinking about this in early February but after doing research I have discovered there are only a few farms in our county that offer this and the ones that do sell out early.

Day 39 - Puzzle with a twist

Last Friday I received two packages in the mail the second item I did not show you a picture of- so here it is, a dvd "Food, Inc.", if you have not heard about this movie it was very interesting to watch and I would recommend it. Oprah did a show about it the last week of January and it was pretty eye opening. If you watch it let me know what you think.

My picture for today is the puzzle we started this weekend on our dining room table. I love puzzles and this one has a twist, the puzzle you are working on is not the one on the front of the box, it is of what one of the characters on the box is looking at so it will be a surprise when it is done!

Day 38 - Superbowl Sunday

This afternoon, Jeff went and picked up a bucket of Honey BBQ wings from J. Timothy's for our small Superbowl gathering with Jeff's parents.

And yes Ben actually ate the wings! I have proof you can see the wing sauce around his mouth! (Ben is a VERY picky eater and this picture is a HUGE milestone for him, we have had many days of the crying and gagging over food, at one point in his young life we called him an air plant becasue he just did not eat anything.)

In our household, I am a Buffalo Bills fan and Jeff is a Washington Redskins fan so for us it is just a game to watch until next season!

Day 37 - Buzzworthy Media

This morning at 8 am hubby's show "On the Road" was on the air on Fox 61.

This scene with the hosts was shot in our dining room.

Jeff's company logo at the end of the show. Jeff's parents came over to watch the show and then we had a nice breakfast. It was a very exciting day in the York household!

Day 36 - I received mail!

Today I received two things in the mail that were not bills or junk mail.

The larger of the two items was my StoryBook from Creative Memories. I created it using my digital scrapbook pages from my blog last year. Jeff helped me create the cover using the blog header I had up last year. The book came out BEAUTIFUL! It is so nice to see the result in your hands and be able to touch the pages of a book.

The other item you will have to check back later this weekend to see and hear what it was!

Tomorrow is a big day for Jeff, at 8 am on Fox 61 (If you are in the Hartford, Connecticut area) the project he has been working on for the past few weeks will be on the air. It is a show called "On the Road" look for the Buzzworthy Media logo in the final credits! (I think I have mentioned in a previous post that Jeff owns and works for his own company, Buzzworthy Media)

Day 35 - Lego BrickMaster

Ben's first Lego BrickMaster set and magazine arrived today. He was very excited to get something addressed to him in the mail and it was from Lego!
